We have had many visitors to our bar. Believe it or not even Madonna visited while staying in Malta! So did model Claudia Schiffer and actor Peter O'Toole. Here are some pictures, comments and stories supplied by visitors along with some family titbits. All pictures are thumbnails of the larger jpeg image. Click on any to see the full picture.

We will be happy to include any new contributions here but could you keep them clean please?

Joe Chircop the diver.
Our father Joe who ran Andrews before us also had a distinguished career as a Royal Navy diver. Here he is with the equipment used at the time. Not for the faint hearted and very uncomfortable. Initially training at HMS Ganges he then moved around the globe with the service and has many a tale to tell. The helmet is a prized possession and is now a collectors item and is displayed in the restaurant

Some Impressions.

We have had quite a few artists staying with us and here are some of their donated works . The originals now hang proudly in the bar. Our apologies for any discrepancies introduced into the digital images but thanks for the hard work!

The oldest bar in Malta

Here is an extract from a letter printed in the Times of Malta on 03.06.1998 written by A. Galea of Msida and entitled Old Bars:

"Marthese Brincat's programme Tbissima on RTK radio on May 18 featured an interesting interview with Julian Borg who said that "the City of London bar in St Julian's was established in 1914 and is one of Malta's oldest bars.

The only other bar established before, it and still in operation is Andrews in St George's Bay, St Julian's which opened in 1909. "

This independent letter from A. Galea has not been disputed since.

We celebrated our centenary on Friday 19 June 2009 when a party was held and the Times of Malta featured pictures and our history, which we have turned into a full web page including lots of pictures

One customer said he was a friend of British PM!
And to prove it he asked Mr Brown to send us a 100th Birthday message and he did

Empty? Rarely!
Via email a regular customer has commented that the images on this site of the bars, inside and out, don't show any people! This is, of course, a very rare occurrence. So Raymond Pantalleresco has sent us his own photograph of the 'Sunday Gang' enjoying themselves in the sun. Thank you Raymond.

Thanks for...
	Two of our regular customers are a couple who visit Malta from Germany annually. They come to Andrews for most of their meals and as a thank you presented us with this collage which is now displayed in the restaurant

Our Pastimes
	Andrew and Simon were very proud of the 30 foot Chris Craft Cavalier they used to own. Now Simon has a smaller speedboat whilst Andrew has a Yamaha Dragstar 1100. This is how they escape and chill out.
